Moser Glass

A beacon of the brilliance of Bohemian glass, Moser has been renowned for centuries for their luxury glass stemware and tableware. Founded as Ludwig Moser & Sons in 1857, the company is still producing fine glass and crystal pieces today.

When the company first opened in the Czech town of Karlovy Vary, Moser's main product was delicately decorated and often engraved art glass products. The refinement of their pieces drew immediate attention, so much so that within two decades, the company had scaled up to become a fully independent glassworks. By the dawn of the 20th century, Moser had embraced the brilliance of Art Nouveau designs, juxtaposing their crystal clear Bohemian glass lines with the rich colors and organic textures indicative of the Art Nouveau era.

One of Moser's great successes was their Fipop line, which debuted in the 1910s. Fipop was characterized by simplified glass vessels encircled by a band of acid etched and gilded decoration with relief motifs ranging from figures to floral swags. It was so popular, several American brands emulated it. Moser's Fipop design was only one example of a longstanding legacy of glassmaking ingenuity.
