DNA DIGITAL FINGERPRINTS
For security and insurance, the scanning process generates a unique digital fingerprint under visible, UV, and near-infrared light spectrums, which safely detail the “DNA” of the artwork: its topography, reflectance, and colorimetric properties. This documentation makes the artwork unforgeable and adds assurance – thus, value – to consigners, auction houses, and buyers.
ADDA
The Automated Damage Detection Algorithm (ADDA) captures an artwork’s DNA. The scanning technology reacts to the slightest change of condition, which is otherwise invisible to the naked eye. That means ARTMYN can document a piece’s condition after transport, storage, restoration or periods of display. ADDA can automatically compare two sets of scans of the same artwork created at different times. In this way, one can detect whether it is, in fact, the same artwork and have an accurate reference for the condition of a piece to determine the extent to which artwork may have been damaged or restored.
CONDITION REPORTS
Conditions of artworks, as well as all their specifics, can be illustrated in a standardized and interactive digital condition report – a tool developed in collaboration with restorers at the Geneva Freeports. The Digital Condition Reports (DCR) are an exciting new development for Invaluable collectors and auction houses.
