Men's Bracelets

The first bracelets worn by men appeared around 5,000 B.C., as our early ancestors fashioned cuffs and strands for the wrist conjured from bits of shell, bone and stone. As technology progressed and society advanced, these organic materials were eventually with the more luxurious counterparts of gold, silver and gems.

These bracelets were in part to portray one’s power or status, but they also came with talismanic connotations, as many wearers felt they could help fend off wayward forces. Thought men’s bracelets fell out of favor during the Middle Ages, by the 20th century they came back in style.

This resurgence was in part thanks to the development of the identification, or ID, bracelet, which became incredibly popular during the World Wars a means of both identification and commemoration. It is form this fascinating heritage that the men’s bracelet descends today, adding an enduring element of history to its present demand.
